Inventory systems, owners, and extract timing. Produce a one-page map used for the rest of the cohort.

Tie-out discipline

Practice reconciling GL, admin reports, and CRM fee schedules with named evidence links.

App review queues

Configure statuses, SLA clocks, and escalation rules so exceptions cannot vanish into email.

Materiality & soft language

Write and critique commentary when thresholds tempt teams to hide noise as “immaterial.”

Allocation & waterfall spot checks

Sample investor lines against waterfall logic; log mismatches without freezing the close.

LP pack assembly

Assemble the final package with a second-reader checklist and sign-off trail.

Partner briefing drill

Former fund controller and ops lead across Asia-Pacific vehicles. Chao designs Cloudappconnect labs around the friction she saw between admin portals and LP expectations—especially when teams in Taiwan(China) report to multi-jurisdiction investors.

FAQ

Before you enroll

Do I need a specific auditing app license?

No. Labs use a shared demo environment. You will map patterns to your tools afterward. We do not sell software licenses.

Who is this not for?

If you have never closed a fund reporting cycle, start with fundamentals elsewhere. This course assumes you can read a trial balance and an LP pack.

What is a real limitation of the program?

We do not provide legal opinions on marketing disclosures or tax characterizations. Narrative labs improve clarity and consistency; counsel still owns regulated wording.

How large are cohorts?

Typically 12–18 seats so critique rounds stay substantive.

Learner notes

Recent feedback on this course

“Week three’s review queue setup is what stuck. Our exceptions finally have owners instead of lingering in shared inboxes.”

Solid on ties and narratives. The waterfall module moves fast—budget an extra evening if your structures are multi-tier.
